When things go wrong, as they sometimes will,
When the road you're trudging seems all uphill,
When the funds are low and the debts are high,
And you want to smile, but you have to sigh,
When care is pressing you down a bit-
Rest if you must, but don't you quit!
The famous poem written by John Greenleaf is quiet relatable even today. Most of the students quit not when they find situation tough but when they don’t have inner motivation to achieve the task. It can better be understood by the following story, In life of every champion there comes a time when he gets very bored with the work he is doing, the daily monotonous routine he is following when there is no excitement and things are not making sense at all, 95% of the people who enter into such things leave or quit during this phase and only 5% of the students or aspirants who overcome this difficult phase end up becoming champions. What is the difference between these 5% and 95% of students? Is it talent? The answer is No, it is Perseverance. Always remember that Winner is the Loser who tried one more time and refused to Quit.
Over the years of experience, we have seen students quitting over trivial reasons like they are not scoring well in mocks, they had a fight with their partner, they are frustrated and 147 other reasons.
Problem is not in quitting but facing the dark future which will loom over your head once you have made your mind, don’t let the sunshine of the bright future to take the backseat and getting overshadowed by your decision to quit.
Next question is that what to do when you are in the zone of negativity and not able to find the right motivation to achieve your goals? Start working out, change your routine, change your environment, focus more on work and less on problems, sideline the root cause of negativity from your life be it is people or social media and try to focus on your goal like Arjun focused on the eye of the bird or do any other thing which palliates your pain and uneasiness, but don’t you Quit.
How to find the right set of motivation? The only problem with the motivation is that it has transient nature; it lasts for a small time and then fades away. Instead of getting motivation, try to get inspiration because once inspired you will become Unstoppable and only way to get inspired is by focusing on ‘Why you want to do it’ and not on ‘How to do it’, The day when your 'Why' will become extremely strong, you would become like an avalanche who is a juggernaut and cannot be stopped humanly.
