MICA, Ahmedabad, conducts the MICAT exam to shortlist candidates for their flagship program of Post Graduate Diploma in Communications (PGDM-C). MICA, Ahmedabad, is considered to be one of the best colleges for Advertisement and Marketing in India. Every year, it is conducted twice – MICAT I and MICAT II. MICAT is conducted across 50 cities in India. In December, MICAT I is conducted. Whereas, in February, MICAT II is conducted. For getting an admission into MICA, the first step is to appear for at least one the CAT, XAT or GMAT exam. The second step is to appear for MICAT. After clearing these two stages, candidates are called for Group Exercise and Personal Interview round.
The eligibility criteria for MICAT is that the candidate must have completed the graduation of minimum of 3 years from any stream. The candidate should have secured at least 50% marks in his/her graduation. Also, candidates in their final year can take the MICAT. Also, one more thing to note is that you need to appear for CAT/XAT/GMAT before applying for MICAT. After qualifying MICAT, the candidates will be called for Group Exercise and Personal Interview round. Once the entire procedure is done, the candidates’ final composite score will be calculated on the basis of the following mentioned weightage-
CAT/XAT/GMAT- 20%
MICAT- 30%
GE- 20%
PI- 30%
MICAT exam contains approximately 140 to 150 questions. Candidates need to answer them in 165 minutes. The MICAT exam is slightly different as compared to other MBA entrance exams because it contains different sections (Descriptive Test, Divergent and Convergent Thinking, Psychometric Test) along with the normal sections like Quants, Verbal, and General Awareness.
